Mostly I'm Just Lonely

I talk about the song at the start of the track, so no need to do that here. The gig where I played this was called Will Play for Food and took place in the Willamette Bistro. I had a menu of songs, both originals and covers. People could bid to pick the next song ("I keep playing 'til you stop paying") with all the money going to the local food bank. I think I raised about $150 and played for about two hours. I was tired at the end of that.

Mostly I'm just lonely as I'm trying to find
Someone to love, a little peace of mind
Sometimes I think my life is totally inane
I'm numb to all the joy, I only feel the pain

Morning comes, but I just stay in bed
I lie there wide awake, a little bit like being dead
Watch as my life, slips away
So many things that I should do, but I lie there anyway

I don't know why I sing these songs
I'm in this weird old world and it's like I don't really belong
I think about the people that I see
And sometimes I wonder if they're lonely just like me

Mostly I'm just lonely
That's all
